Influence of Induced Variability of Unsaturated Soil Parameters on Seepage Stability of Ancient Riverbank

In the restoration of ancient water engineering, loss fine soil particles from riverbank can easily cause seepage instability problems such as piping during flood transient process. This paper explores influence mechanism fluctuation on stability based indoor experiments, field monitoring and saturated-unsaturated theory. The obtains soil-water characteristic curve unsaturated using laboratory tests, builds finite element model porous media modifies parameters data to verify numerical analysis results. results showed that groundwater level, pore pressure hydraulic gradient had changed. maximum between antiseepage structure increased by 13.4%, at toe 49.3% significantly increased. Through modified lime grouting structure, mass was changed, reduced 55.6%, which restrains damage. study be used in riverbanks solve problems.
